Pandemic Fatigue
Recent polls are revealing many Canadians are coping with what is termed as, “Pandemic Fatigue.” Simply put, Canadians are growing weary of following public health recommendations while for many their stress level is on the rise.
There are several different ways people experience Pandemic Fatigue. One person may battle restlessness while another may become irritable. Others say they lack motivation and have difficulty concentrating on tasks. Dietary habits may change and sleep may even be disrupted, and some people will withdraw from socializing.
Increasing the fatigue is the most recent core message we’re all hearing these days that this won’t be over anytime soon. And then there is the rapid approach of winter.
I will give you rest.
Jesus - Matthew 11:28
In their efforts to assist and equip those suffering in this battle medical professionals are encouraging people to arm themselves with, “the basics:” a good night’s sleep, good nutrition, and exercise.
But what should an individual do if after all that they still lack rest and peace…a restful soul?
Well, to that individual, Jesus extends a marvellous invitation. He said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30).
We want you to know that if you’re suffering from Pandemic Fatigue, we’re here to help anyway we can. Whether it’s a need for prayer, or someone to talk to, or even do a Bible study, we’re just a phone call or email away. So, please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of help to you.
